How long is the power off?
Usually a few hours, agreed with you. Where there are elderly people or remote working we schedule the least disruptive slot.
Do I get the paperwork?
Yes, the documentation required for that type of work is handed over at the end.
Does the whole installation need redoing?
Almost never. In most cases the work is on the board and the protective devices.
